We will have a Methodist Missionary, Katherine Parker, speaking at our church on Saturday June 4 at 5:30-7:30 pm. Katherine is currently serving in Nepal, where she is part of the Health Team, focusing on improving water, sanitation, and hygiene issues. She has served previously in Cambodia, where she worked with the Community Health and Agricultural Development program. Katherine helped develop food security programs and “livelihood” cooperative projects – cow, pig, and duck raising, rice co-ops (“banks”), vegetable farming, and various small-business projects through savings and credit groups. She has also assisted congregations in assuring that their communities have continued access to biologically safe drinking water.
We will have a potluck dinner in Inman Hall, so please plan to bring a dish to share while we hear about Katherine’s 15 years of experience in missions. Please invite your neighbors and friends to this wonderful evening event.
